MCEE 1.13

We aimed to create a platform that allows individuals to express their unique music preferences, regardless of their location. Through our application, a host initiates a party and invites friends by sharing a "Party Code." Guests can then request songs from Spotify, which are added to a shared queue visible to all party members. While on the queue page, guests have the opportunity to vote on requested songs, with the most popular ones ascending in the queue. MCEE automatically plays the song with the highest number of likes, ensuring that the crowd collectively chooses the music rather than just one person. At MCEE, our objective is to give all guests a voice and facilitate the creation of a dynamic party atmosphere. In essence, we're redefining the role of the DJ and granting control to partygoers.

HOSTING A PARTY

Upon connecting their Spotify account, users have the option to host or join a party. If they choose to host, they are prompted to enter a party name and select a song that will play when the party begins. To invite others, users can create their own unique code or generate a random one. Once the party commences, hosts gain access to the Music Controller screen, which allows them to play, pause, and skip songs. Hosts can also add their own songs to the queue and vote on suggestions from other participants. Ending a party is as simple as clicking the "End Party" button in the top right corner, which removes all remaining guests.

JOINING A PARTY

Users who select the "join party" option must enter a unique party code received from either the host or another attendee. Upon joining, they are directed to the main party queue where they can view the party name, code, host information, and the currently playing song. The queue also displays upcoming songs and their respective vote counts, allowing guests to vote as well. By clicking the "request song" button, guests can directly add songs from Spotify's library. However, they do not possess host capabilities such as audio output or music control features like play, pause, skip, and volume. Guests have the freedom to leave the party at any time.
